It has a problem that is very fixable but to fix it also requires complete disassembly of the entire laptop because I need to get to the motherboard. The AC power jack thing is soldered onto the motherboard, see, and normal wear and tear will eventualy break that solder connection. So the solution is to open the whole laptop up, get to it, and either replace it with something that won't break from wear and tear or re-solder it and have that last for another 2-5 years like this laptop has already done. Total repair cost is something like $2.50 plus the difficulty of complete disassembly so I'll probably have to do it but I really really don't want to. In the meantime I can very occasionaly use battery power to have a few minutes of time online but that's all.
